Quick Blake Story

New Blakeism...
After I turned down the radio in the car - You turn it off Mommy? Oh MAN...that is my favorite song!

Monday when we got home Blake went straight to his kitchen and picked up some toy. Then he says "I have to share Mommy". (This is not a new Blakeism...he has had that one for a while.) Anyway I said "Yes you do need to share, that's right. Do you know that it makes Jesus happy when you share?" Without skipping a beat he looks up at me and says..."I want to see him Mommy". So I felt the need to probe further. He often says he wants to see baby Jackson so I wasn't sure who he was talking about. "You want to see who?"

"I want to see Jesus Mommy!"

Not knowing quite how to respond I told him that Jesus lived in heaven and that he would not be able to see him for a long time. I am not sure he was listening because he went back to the kitchen and resumed playing. But it really made me stop and think about the awesome responsibility that I have as a parent to teach my children about God and who He is and how much He loves them.

It is interesting to talk and really listen to kids about Jesus. Thain asks the strangest questions. But it makes me happy to know he is thinking about Jesus on his own.

It IS an awesome responsibility...sometimes it overwhelms me. But it's really neat to hear stuff like this, and know that you're doing something right! He's so sweet!
